CREATIVITY// Landscapes

I tend to paint abstract landscapes.

Landscapes that are real or imagined or some combination in between.

Fragments pieced together from time, place and memory.

Stitched. Woven.

Like a nostalgic tapestry.

Some days it isn’t even the landscape I’m looking at in that moment. It’s just the image that wants to come out.

Like it has been biding its time. Sitting. Waiting.

I can’t always pick where the inspiration has emerged from…it just has.

Sprung upon me like it has been there all along.

Sometimes the painting tells me what it wants to be. I am just the conduit for the inspiration.

A hand holding a paintbrush and letting magic happen.
